Gifts of Speech Assistants and Volunteers:

The Gifts of Speech project would not function if not for a crew of dedicated and whip-smart volunteers and assistants.

Beth WortmanOur Number one volunteer is Beth Wortman. Beth recently retired as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Life Insurance for Genworth Financial, Inc. She holds an LL.M in Taxation from New York University Law School, a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a B.S. with Honors from the University of Iowa.

A daughter, 3 granddaughters and a cat keep Beth's life busy. She is an avid reader who enjoys eclectic research projects and educational classes (making her an ideal match for GoS). Beth is the power that keeps the GoS project organized and running.

Three students also lend their energy and focus to the GoS project. They are Tiffany Meadows, Alexis Doyle and Katie Segreto. These young women are creating digital copies of documents from the Sweet Briar College archives in order to establish a new section of the GoS website on the history of women's education in the south.

A huge "Thank You" goes out to these generous and hard-working women for their, time, energy and devotion to jobs well done.
