Gifts of Speech Staff:

Beth Wortman: Project Director. Beth came to Gifts of Speech in the summer of 2007. She has given hundreds of hours of her time to organize Gifts of Speech and move forward in collecting new speeches. Before coming to GoS, she retired from her post as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Life Insurance for Genworth Financial, Inc. Beth holds an LL.M in Taxation from New York University Law School, a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a B.S. with Honors from the University of Iowa.

A daughter, three granddaughters, a cat and recreational swimming keep Beth's life busy when she is not in the GoS office. She is an avid reader who enjoys eclectic research projects and educational classes (making her an ideal match for GoS). Beth is the power that keeps the GoS project focused and running.

Liz Kent: Executive Director. Liz is the Electronic Resources Librarian at Sweet Briar College Library. When she's not teaching information literacy to students, Liz is developing CONTENTdm databases and writing Wikipedia entries. Liz writes the GoS Newsletter each month and attends to the administrative needs of the GoS project.

Liz rides horses and swims for fitness. She lives with a pack of beagles in the mountains of Virginia.
